Boston Then and Now

Boston Then and Now is a project carried out by Boston History students at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Students have recreated photographs from the City of Boston Municipal Archives to discover what the city looked like then... and now! Check out Carter Trafton's slider below to learn more about the Copley Square area. Then use the drop-down menu above to see our research into other areas of Boston.

Carter Trafton:The photos below are taken from Copley Square looking East down Boylston Street with a view of Trinity Church. You can see in the historical photo that the early iteration of the T once ran down the middle of the street besides horse carts. In the more recent photo, there are far more skyscrapers and greater construction projects in the area.
