West End

This picture depics a historic church in the West End of Boston Massachusettes. Comparing the historic picture to the new one, you can see that the church looks wider because of the buildings that were built directly behind the church in the top left corner and middle left. The two trees in the foreground of the picture appear to have remained in the same location.

The slider below is the comparison of the Old West Church in the West End neighbor. The photo historical photograph of this church was taken December 1968. The recreated image was taken around September 2018. Although the church itself has not changed, the West End itself has grown and become more developed.-Jocelyn Frechette

Built in 1806, the West End church has been witness to young America's growth and rapid change. This photo was taken December of 1966 and is indicative of the change in Boston. Missing in the original photos are the high rises that are visible in the background.

this is the construction of city of hall and then recreation of city hall. it started construction in 1963 and is made out of solid concrete. this form of architecture is called brutalism.
